A Message from NACVSO President - October 2026
Greetings NACVSO Members and Partners,
I'm proud to share that NACVSO has been invited to speak at the Senate Committee on Veterans' Affairs staff roundtable on the National Veterans Strategy Act on October 21st. I'll deliver our association's remarks during the session on strategy implementation. The message will be simple: we only get one shot at implementing a national veteran strategy, and it will not succeed without the people doing the work.
That means you. You all see where the system fails long before it shows up in federal reports. I'll be asking Congress to write GVSOs into the strategy's governance as practitioner partners, to map every community in the country that has no accredited government advocate, and to invest in standing up offices where none currently exist today.
World-class advocacy should never depend on a veteran's ZIP code. We helped the CVSO Act, and we have the training, accreditation, and hands-on experience to help those communities get it right.
Advocacy like this only works when our members are part of it, so please remember that early delegate registration is open for 2027 Leadership Summit. This is where we shape the priorities we carry to Washington so if you are a delegate or would like your delegate to attend, let’s make sure we are registered.
As always, thank you for the work you do every day. You are the reason we have a seat at this table.
Very Respectfully,
Andrew Tangen
President, NACVS
