Professional Bio

Tom grew up in Ashtabula County, graduating from Ashtabula High School in 1986. During his senior year, he enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps through the Delayed Entry Program and began his training at Parris Island in September 1986. He served honorably until March 1991, with duty stations at NAB Little Creek, VA; MCB Quantico, VA; and MCB Camp Lejeune, NC.
In 2010, Tom began his dedicated career as a County Veterans Service Officer (CVSO) in Ashtabula. He is an accredited representative with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs and affiliated with organizations including the American Legion, Disabled American Veterans, Marine Corps League, Vietnam Veterans of America, AMVETS, the National Association of County Veterans Service Officers, the Ohio Department of Veterans Services, and the Veterans of Foreign Wars. In June 2023, he earned the title of Certified Veterans Advocate. Tom is deeply committed to helping veterans and their families access the benefits they’ve earned through their service.
Outside of work, Tom is a semi-retired paramedic who enjoys archery, hunting, fishing, outdoor adventures, and quality time with his family.
