Professional Bio

Marc Massey has been a resident of West Springfield since 2018. For the last ten years Marc's passion has been assisting fellow Veterans. He has done this as a Peer Support Specialist, Veteran Drug Program facilitator, Veterans Rep for Salvation Army and now as the Director of Veteran Services for West Springfield.
Marc comes from a strong military family. His Grandfather and Grandmother served in the navy where they met. His Mother was one of the first Female Emergency Management Directors for the Army in the 80s. His Father, who is a long-time Hadley resident, served in the Marine Corps. Marc is the oldest of Four children, three of whom served in the Army prior to, during and after the battles that followed September 11th , 2001.
After enlisting into the Army in 1992 Marc found himself on his first deployment to Bosnia and Herzegovina in 2001. While supporting SFOR missions he and his fellow service members, witnessed the tragedy of 9/11. Since that moment, Marc deployed several times in support of Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom. During his second tour in Iraq, SSG Massey was medically retired due to injuries sustained in combat operations.
