Joshua Brown

Joshua Brown has been in the Iowa Air National Guard since 2017. Prior to commissioning in 2024, Brown served as a Geospatial Intelligence Analyst with the 232d Intelligence Squadron at the 132d Wing, Des Moines, IA, where he achieved the rank of Staff Sergeant. During his enlistment, SSgt Brown earned his Bachelor of Science in Public Health from the University of Iowa and his Associate in Applied Sciences in Intelligence Studies and Technologies from the Community College of the Air Force. In 2024, Brown commissioned with the 133d Combat Training Squadron as a Cyber Effects Operations Officer, where he continues to serve today.

In the civilian sector, Brown works as a County Veteran Service Officer with Johnson County Veteran Services, where he assists veterans and their families with county, state, and federal veteran benefits. His primary accreditation is with NACVSO, and he is cross-accredited with The American Legion, DAV, Iowa Department of Veterans Affairs, and VFW.

Brown also serves on the Iowa Public Health Association’s Board of Directors as the Affiliate Representative to the Governing Council, where he works on state and federal public health initiatives, advocates for changes to public policy, and provides vision and direction for the future of public health in Iowa.
