Professional Bio

Jason Graven grew up in Northwest, OH, and was raised by a single mother after his father, a US Army Veteran, committed suicide in 1987. Jason enlisted in the United States Army as Military Police two weeks after the attacks on 9/11/2001. Jason would be deployed as part of the initial invasion force into Iraq in March 2003 and would return to the United States in March 2004.

After service, Jason achieved a Bachelor of Arts in History and returned to the University of Toledo to pursue a Master in Business Administration degree. After achieving his MBA, Jason would accept a position with The American Legion Department of Ohio in Delaware, Oh as Internal Affairs Director, later becoming the Director of Membership & Marketing.
In 2019, Jason accepted the Military Program Coordinator position with Bowling Green State University, returning to NW Ohio. In 4 years, BGSU’s rank in the Military Times Best for Vets rose to the 2nd best four-year university in the nation for veterans to attend.

Jason moved from the Military Program Coordinator position with Bowling Green State University to become the Assistant Director of the TRIO Veterans Upward Bound program in 2023. This program assists first-generation low-income Veterans with career and educational assistance. This regionally based program aids Veterans seeking a new career or education by enrolling in any institution of higher education or trade school that best fits their needs.

Jason now serves as a Veteran Service Officer for the Fulton County, Ohio Veteran Services Office.
