Professional Bio
Early in her career, Amy played a pivotal role in the establishment of the 54B Veterans Treatment Court in East Lansing, Michigan (2010), a specialized court designed to support justice-involved veterans through treatment, accountability, and coordinated community services.
Amy is an active member of the Michigan Association of County Veterans Counselors (MACVC) and has held multiple leadership roles over the past 14 years, including Interim Vice President, Trustee, and Legislative Officer. In 2025, she testified before the Michigan House of Representatives advocating for county veteran service offices and the continuation of critical state grant funding. She was also instrumental in helping define and advance the County Veteran Service Fund Grant.
She is an accredited County Veterans Service Officer through the National Association of County Veterans Service Officers (NACVSO), the American Legion (AL), the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW), and the Disabled American Veterans (DAV).
Amy’s commitment to veteran service is deeply personal. Her father’s service in the United States Air Force—through which he earned American citizenship—shaped her belief that the privileges of citizenship carry a responsibility to serve.
As she states, “Because of my father’s service, I was granted opportunities made possible by sacrifice. Serving veterans is how I give back to those who have given the most for this country.”
