Applying for NACVSO Accreditation

BEFORE YOU SUBMIT YOUR NACVSO ACCREDITATION PACKET PLEASE READ THESE INSTRUCTIONS:

  1. Download and use the forms available on this page.
  2. Download and complete Section I of the VA 21 Form (dated March 2023), save it to your desktop and then print the completed form. 
  3. Download and complete the NACVSO Employment Verification Form (dated 2023), save it to your desktop and then print the completed form.
  4. Scan the completed forms and your Basic Benefits Certificate as three separate documents, NOT AS ONE FILE. 
  5. Name the files as follows.
    • Last name, First Name (State Abbreviation) VA 21
    • Last name, First Name (State Abbreviation) CERT EMPLY
    • Last name, First Name (State Abbreviation) CERT TRNG

EXAMPLE:

        • Doe, John OH VA 21
        • Doe, John OH CERT EMPLY
        • Doe, John OH CERT TRNG

 

  • Now, click the link below “APPLY NOW” and complete the information required and upload the scanned documents into the proper designated area.
  • Your accreditation will be processed by NACVSO within 90-days upon receipt of a properly completed and submitted application. Re-submissions restart the 90-days. 
  • Please do not call or email asking about your accreditation until you have checked the OGC accreditation website at https://www.va.gov/ogc/apps/accreditation/index.asp. If after 90 days, you are not on the listed on the site, then please email the NSD below. 
  • Most common mistakes that will delay your accreditation:
    • Forms not completed or missing information
    • Every block in section I must be completed on the VA 21
    • Not using the forms from this website
    • Not scanning forms in and submitting only the saved forms, (does not transfer data correctly all of the time)
    • Not using the same name as your NACVSO Membership
    • All fields in the new VA21 form are mandatory and need to be completed by the prospective CVSO representative truthfully. Duplicating work address into a home address is not acceptable. Please note that the home address will not be displayed on the OGC Search Page unless requested. It is for internal records only.
    • Forms not signed
    • Basic Benefits Certificate not included
