Article II, Membership.

2.1 Members will be categorized as follows:

A.     County Veteran Service Officers and State Service Officers- This membership can include any person employed specifically providing veterans services by any county, city, parish, borough, territory, or Native American Nation. State Veteran Service Officers can be members only in states where there is no county veterans service officer association.

B.     State Association- Any State Association of County Veteran Service Officers, regardless of title, so long as it is recognized by the respective state’s Department or Office of Veterans Affairs.

C.     Auxiliary Member- This membership can include retired members, or any persons who share a common interest in Veterans Affairs and who wish to provide support, but who are not VSO’s, and not accredited with the U.S Department of Veterans Affairs.

D.     Honorary Members- membership is given to all past presidents of the Executive Board after they have served as past president for one year on the Executive Board.
 
E.     Grandfather Provision- For a person who a was current member of the organization, on or before June 30th, 2019 shall maintained membership until it has expires or is removed.
 
2.2     Dues- The annual dues assessment shall be determined by the Executive Board and prescribed in the Policy and procedures manual. The schedule of who pays dues is as follows:

A.     Any member described in Article II 2.1(A)
B.     Any member described in Article II 2.1(B)
C.    Any member described in Article II 2.1(C)
D.    Any member described in Article II 2.1(E)

2.3     The Voting- those eligible to vote are described in Article II 2.1 (A) and (B):

A.    Member States- Each member state shall receive 3 votes at any general or special meeting. They shall gain one vote for every 15 paid members.

B.    Non-Member States- For every state without associations or association memberships they shall receive one vote for every 15 paid members.

C.    Quorum will be defined by a majority of the voting members present.

2.4     Removal of Members- Members can only be removed by vote of the Executive Board for cause.

The NACVSO Membership Committee Members are no longer responsible for printing and mailing membership cards to NACVSO Members.  Each member can now log-in and from the menu on the right side of the page, select 'Membership Card' and it will allow you to print your own card.  If you have forgotten your password, we also have a 'Forgot Password' link that you can use to reset your password.  CLICK HERE to contact us if you have questions.  Have you ever wondered what you might do with those annoying fake plastic credit cards or membership cards that you get in the mail?  Here is an idea.  Print your membership card and glue it to one of those plastic cards instead of throwing them away.  Your membership card will last much longer if you do.

State Membership

Yearly member state dues must be received by the Treasurer by October 1.
Renewal invoices will be mailed by the Treasurer to the state associations by September 1.
Any dues not received by December 31 will be considered delinquent and all privileges revoked (i.e., lower individual membership dues, charter status and all voting privileges).
Should a state become delinquent, current individual members will be billed at the higher non-member state rate.
